us ki yaad bhula dene se
kamra viraan ho jata hai
ek tasveer hata dene se
where can the heart find peace
by forgetting her memory
the room becomes so desolate
by just removing one picture

apne diye ko
chaand bataane ke waaste
basthi ka har charaagh
bujhana pada hamein
for me to shine my lamp
as the moon
i had to snuff out
all the other lamps in the city
