for sincere affection, 'faraz'

not every one who shakes your hand

is a friend

purseesh-e-haal bhi itni ki

main kuchh keh na sakun

is takalluf se karam ho to

sitam hota hai

this inquiry of my condition

is so that i can’t say anything

kindness with such formality

becomes cruelty indeed

pyaar jab had se baDha

saare takalluf miT gaye

aap se phir tum hue

phir tu ka unwaan ho gaye

when love grew beyond a point

it erased all formality

addressing as aap became a tum

which affectionately turned into tu
