Description of bedawa: Bedawa is a Punjabi term, literally meaning "disclaimer" or "renouncement" , referring to a historical document signed by some Sikhs disowning Guru Gobind Singh during the siege of Anandpur Fort amid severe hardships. Unlike a formal legal divorce or contract termination, bedawa was a poignant, informal declaration of separation from the Guru to escape the siege.
