kis dasht mein Thahre rahe

one torment churned ceaselessly

which place gave birth to me

Interpretation

Shaayar Baluch seems to portray the pain of existential displacement. The poet says one single confusion churned inside — not about love or loss, but about belonging. Which city's soil do we come from, which wasteland did we end up in? The khaak and dasht together paint a picture of rootlessness: no hometown to claim, no resting place that feels like home. The restlessness was not occasional — it turned raat din, day and night, relentlessly.
