1 Urdu couplets and shers with murakhta

murakhta(m): stupidity

Description of murakhta: Murakhta refers to a poetic gathering or mushaira exclusively for reciting Urdu poetry, known as Rekhta, distinct from Persian mushairas. Unlike traditional mushairas dominated by Persian verse in courts, murakhta celebrated emerging Urdu poetry during Muhammad Shah Rangeela's era, evolving from Majlis-e-Rekhta to widespread fame in Delhi, Rampur, and Lucknow. It differs from modern mushairas, which encompass mixed languages, as murakhta specifically highlighted Rekhta before Urdu fully supplanted Persian traditions.
