Interpretation
Shaayar Fazli seems to contrast the effortless glide of the day with the heavy, resistant crawl of the night.
Daytime carries distraction, noise, movement, perhaps even illusion. Night strips all that away. What remains is solitude, memory, maybe longing.
The word “kaT thi hai” is telling. Night is not lived, it is endured, almost carved through. The sher quietly suggests that pain is most honest when the world falls silent, and time refuses to cooperate.
