Tufail Chaturvedi

Tufail Chaturvedi, whose real name is Vinay Krishan Chaturvedi, was born in 1961 in Kashipur, Uttarakhand. He writes under the pen name Tufail Chaturvedi and has built a reputation as a contemporary Urdu poet. He lives in Noida and works actively in literary circles as a writer and editor.

He composes ghazals, nazms, and couplets in Urdu, while also writing in Hindi and English. His poetry often reflects themes of solitude, distance, and self-reflection. One of his well-known couplets portrays the feeling of being lost in a crowd while still feeling isolated:

“Har taraf phaila hua be samt be manzil safar

Bheed mein rehna magar khud ko akela dekhna.”
