Description of shawwal: Shawwal is the tenth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, following Ramadan and marking the celebration of Eid al-Fitr on its first day. Unlike the preceding month of Ramadan, which mandates daily fasting, Shawwal encourages optional six-day fasts after Eid, equivalent in reward to a full year's fasting due to Islam's tenfold good deed multiplier. Differs from pre-Islamic superstitions where Arabs avoided marriages deeming them unlucky, a belief later dispelled,
