1 Urdu couplets and shers with bhaTakte

bhaTakte: lost

Description of bhaTakte: BhaTakte refers to the state of being lost, wandering aimlessly, or meandering without direction in Urdu. Unlike bhatakna, which denotes the active verb of straying or erring, bhaTakte captures the ongoing, passive condition of such disorientation. It differs from gumshuda, meaning simply "lost," by implying prolonged, pathless movement. In poetry, Hafeez Banarasi's couplet evokes it: those guiding others' paths themselves wandered for years.
