Biography

Shaz Tamkanat was an influential Urdu poet from Hyderabad in the Deccan region, remembered for his profound and thoughtful verse. Born in 1933, he grew up in a culturally rich environment where Urdu literature and Deccani traditions shaped his sensibilities. His poetry carried both classical refinement and modern questioning, blending philosophy with deep emotional expression.
