Description of saron: The term saron refers to two distinct meanings: an Indonesian percussion instrument used in gamelan orchestras, and a Swiss financial benchmark rate. The saron is a musical instrument of Indonesia consisting of six or seven bronze bars placed on a resonating frame, typically about twenty centimeters high and played by a seated performer using mallets.
