2 Urdu couplets and shers with roke

roke: stop

Description of roke: "Roke" is an Urdu verb meaning "to stop," "to halt," or "to prevent," often used in commands like "stop it!" to interrupt action. Unlike "rukna," which implies a voluntary pause, "roke" carries a directive force to cease immediately. Differs from "rokna," its infinitive form, as it functions specifically as the imperative singular for addressing one person. In Urdu poetry, it evokes tension, as in ghazals commanding restraint amid passion.
