Description of hisse: Hisse is a Turkish noun meaning a share, allotted portion, or unit of equity ownership in finance, derived from Arabic via Ottoman Turkish. Unlike a general portion which may be informal, hisse implies a formally designated or divided part. Differs from "pay" as it extends figuratively to a lesson drawn from an event. In poetry, it evokes one's destined share in fate or love.
