1 Urdu couplets and shers with adnaa

adnaa(m): humble, lowly

Description of adnaa: Adnaa is an Arabic-derived Urdu adjective meaning the lowest, meanest, most contemptible, or most insignificant in status, quality, or degree. Unlike its synonym past , which broadly denotes lowness or baseness in moral or social terms, adnaa emphasizes extreme inferiority or proximity in a hierarchical sense. Differs from kamtar , implying mere quantitative lessness, as adnaa carries a pejorative connotation of utter worthlessness. In Urdu poetry, such as Ghalib's ghazals,

1 / 1: adnaa

folded in, it is the lover's heart

spread out, it is the whole world
